CARING FOR BOTH THE PLANET AND OUR HEALTH

GET INVOLVED AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE

For both the health of our planet and its people, you can take the opportunity to help raise awareness about the potential hazards of dangerous chemicals like di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) in our medical equipment, and their growing impact on both people and the environment.

Here are some practical ways that you can get involved and make a difference:

GET TO KNOW THE FACTS

• If knowledge is power, then the more information you know about toxic chemicals like DEHP, the more equipped you'll be to avoid coming in contact with them. Take a look at the FAQs to learn more.

SIGN A PETITION TO THE FDA

• Take action by signing the petition urging the FDA to review and update its guidelines on the use of DEHP in IV bags and tubing nationwide.

WRITE TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVES

• You can always contact your state and federal representatives and ask them to support laws and regulations to limit and even ban the use of DEHP in hospital settings in your state and at the federal level. Find your elected officials: https://www.usa.gov/elected-officials

SPREAD THE WORD

• Tell someone you know about the dangers of DEHP and its impact on people, wildlife and the environment. Maybe even post about it on social media to get a dialogue going among friends, family members and co-workers.

As you can see, there are lots of different ways you can get involved to make a positive impact on our planet and the world around us as it relates to the widespread use of DEHP and other toxic chemicals.

What will you do to make a difference?
